damn, i love pushin' eighty!
it makes me feel...a man.
damn, i love pushin' eighty!
i'll hang in there, if i can.

i love being out in rain, the snow;
what a glorious sweat, the frost!
out all alone at ten p.m.,
the boss in bed, or lost.

      ~~don't put it in the minutes,
           don't ever say i said,
           "we could save a lot on pensions,
           if we work them till they're dead."~~

damn, i love pushin' eighty!
a big ole check, no way!
it gets sent off to the powers that be,
for their lie of a better day.

i love being out on these tired old legs,
so wet and cold...just shiver;
you'd think they'd let one of us build,
a fuckin' bridge across this river.

      ~~we could also add in some fancy whims,
          like...csq, positive discipline.
          put in a bunch of stuff to count,
          stress up high, watch the bodies mount.~~

damn, i love pushin' eighty!
it makes me feel...a man!
damn, i love pushin' eighty!
pass those crutches if you can.

you know you can't refuse it,
hell, they wrote it into law.
it's right down there in black and white,
"you gotta work until you crawl."

      ~~we'll call it a 'state of emergency',
          a natural fuckin' disaster.
          they'll never go home, while we're in charge;
          we'll show 'em whose the master!~~

damn, i love pushin' eighty!
believe me, it's just fine!
damn, i love pushin' eighty!
it's the reasoning that's the crime.

there's a need for this extra forty,
for someone that's out of work.
maybe to raise a family...or,
educate a potential jerk.

      ~~well, excuse me now, i've got to go;
          it's an important golf romance.
          I hope i don't fall off the cart,
          get grass stains on my pants.~~
