Taking Things For Granted.

There are many things we all take for granted,
everyday, things like awakening and breathing.
Then again, we can be very easily supplanted,
being upset by littles things, like babies teething.

Each day, there is a dawn and yes, the sun sets,
if the clouds are over us, we expect some rain.
Whatever the rain falls upon, it wets,
until it dries, that's how it will remain.

Taking things for granted, you know can be a sin?
we forget to be thankful for the life we're gifted.
The things we can hate, enjoy, lose and we win,
we can also be happy, sad, when down we can be uplifted.

Let us not forget when sadness goes we start to smile,
don't take for granted the time we're allowed to care.
The luxury of sitting back and pondering for a while,
about this our world and the joy it is for us to live there.

Jack Gates.
