Departure.
By Jack Gates.

From the womb we prepare ourselves,
'Hello Gabrielle! Is that you?'
When you meet him, there is no stealth.
'Bless my soul! How-do-you-do?'

'Did you have a nice journey?' he might say,
'Chin up! That's the spirit, my Dear!'
'Glad you managed to find your way.
sorry the space is so cramped up here.'

'The cloud on the right to get your halo,
on the left you will get a nice shroud.
I regret they're not the quality you'd get down below.
No, no, Dear! Panties and bras are not allowed!'

'Shoes? Stockings? You have to be kidding!
Use your fingers to comb your hair.
There are no servants, Madam to do your bidding,
whats that? You were an au-pair?'

It is obvious in Heaven, we had a lot to learn,
already I was shivering in my so flimsy shift,
I was rueful, that I had not booked a return,
If I wrote, 'Earth'on a card,would I get a lift?
