August last year was a mystical month,
My parents got plumb awful news,
Though I don’t talk yet, I clearly told them
I’m starting the terrible twos.

Once I was good; now I’m naughty and bad.
I’m driving my parents to booze.
Nothing they do can convince me to stop
Enjoying the terrible twos.

People who drop by are fair game for me,
So come here and pay up your dues.
Never forget I’m just having a phase
They call it the terrible twos.

The "terrible two's" becomes...

the "trying three's" and then if the parents can hold out long enough, they can look forward to the "fabulous four's". This brought back alot of memories with My girls - most of which I'd rather forget lol All kidding aside, this was a really cute poem!

They may not...

talk yet, but their behavior during this phase sure speaks volumes. Cute and amusing piece.

My two are 5 and 7 and I clearly remember the 2s. But the 3s were a little worse. Then after that... well, it just doesn't get any better. lol

Cute poem from the child's POV.
