Cast, like gold, into forever's night,
Abandon to empty darkness, bitter blight,
Held in a cage of pure black walls,
Eternal consuming abyss. Forever drawls
My slowly echoed cry, that you may come.
You reject, hence here I lie, my heart grown numb.
If by you I'm freed my prison, my world,
I may waltz beneath a new sky, pearled
With beads of captured light. River ripples,
Dark hung high, while bellow they mirror stipples
Of fairy lighted boughs. Enthusiastic shine
Rayed fire flies, burn silver light of thine.
If rule of heavens given alone to me,
With all they do possess, then flee
I the iron world to float out time and space,
Where every star I'll learn. Know face
Of each, soul of all, my knowledge my own.
Gone from you, you from me, amorous I'm flown,
Never less miss thee. Each star I meet, I name of you.
May all who study heaven's beauty, then, learn to love you too.

Well done...

When I read this piece, it put me in a place in my head of Knights in Shining Armor and the love they have for ladies that can't be. I think that is why I like poetry, though I can't write it very well. It can take a person from one scene in their mind and another to another place all together different. This was lovely Shagly and I look forward to reading more of your work. RH&F
