I've not got a melody for this one, but I'm sure someone can come up with one. Help yourself, grin! Uncle P.

There's a thing about old Putnam county,
That most strangers seem to not understand.
All the folks living in Putnam county,
Tend to stick together, just like a "Clan!"

The fiercest place in old Putnam county,
Is south of Baxter, and called "Bloody Eighth."
People there very seldom call the "Law,"
They tend to solve their problems, with "Strong Faith!"

If a stranger acts mean in old Putnam,
He'll likely "Inherit" a piece of land.
It won't be much but it'll do the job,
6 by 3 feet, with a small marble stand!

Most of the folks in old Putnam county,
Are friendly to strangers who come around.
But if one gets uppity, acting mean,
He'll straighten his act quick, or be Hell bound!

If you get the urge to visit "Putnam,"
Come on down to see all the happy folk.
Leave your "BETTER THAN YOU" attitudes home,
Or you'll be sorry, and that ain't no joke!!
