How will I survive without my heart?
How can I make it through this day?
When every minute that we're apart
A part of me fades away?

No one should experience such pain;
The separation of joined souls.
So soon, I can already feel the strain
Of the distance, the night black as coal.

I press my hand against the windowpane,
Thinking of you, wondering how you are.
Could you be doing the same?
You're now as close as a distant star.

I am floating, weightless in space
Trying to get a glimpse of you from above.
Knowing that it's pointless, a waste
But driven beyond reason by a profound love.

This crushing ache in my chest,
This hollow misery will eventually end
Only if I pass this self-inflicted test,
To see whether I am truly meant to be yours.
