through native tongue,
biting blades
of Remmington reverence,
I have become
a genetic abnormality
Mutant shackled to
when the bell tolls..
I’ll have to say, and let me add that I will be more than happy to get clarification and learn (as some poets indeed do) how and why the almost universal call, first made by John Donne, Then borrowed by Hemmingway for personal responsibility; the humanistic universalistic maxim: you are your brother’s keeper, we are all brothers. That is the antithesis to the narrow minded motto: “mind your own business”. How could all that turned you into “a genetic abnormality”; a shackled Mutant? The essence of my difficulty: personally and I believe culturally, the bells tolls have deep positive connotations. In your poem, Something which is merely hinted but not developed turned your reaction to the same into negative one. Nothing bad here, just not yet developed.
For whom the bells toll ~ perhaps Hemingway might explain all ~ in the next life of course.
a very nice write blue, a spiral descent of words that gripped and held my thoughts. (~_~)
