As the shadows of depression invade the spaces in my mind,
I see death and hate moving hand in hand; No thought, no hope.
Quiet desperation of a love that can't be, of a future that won't shine.
Dreams taken from me, cast to the wind for lack of ambition.
I know my only hope, my one prayer is for naught; It will never be,

Turning all that hate and mistrust inward: I can't win with all this hurt.
My infinite scream of loneliness reaches for you, but you can't hear,
You can't afford the price it will cost to not understand.
My dreams are a jumble of wishes all about you, nothing but you,
From my waking moment to my days last blink and beyond;
You're all I want, all I need.
Darkness, like a blanket, envelopes me as I see what shall be,
No time to fight the reality of being; I'll always be alone.
