My Angel

'Tis in times of tribulation
My Angel she does come
For to ensure
That I endure
All that is ordained

In silent flight
Their twisted forms
Take shape upon the mist
Closer now she smells their breath
Their filth upon the breeze

With heart of gold
And trusty steel
My Angel stands her ground
Not the sight of tooth nor talon
Can sway her trust bequeathed

Full of rage
The Dragons' strike
Upon this futile quest
But unbeknown
By will alone
This Angels' strength is might

The ivory flash
A ripping claw
The shrieking scream of death
Deep driving thrust
Of Angels' sword
A seething shower of blood

A cloud of dust
But as it clears
I see my Angel stand
Look down upon them
My demons in the mud

And come again
My Angel does
Each time the mist appears
To stand again upon the plain
And wipe away my fears
