Sunday Morning: off to the races
Filling all those empty spaces
Between morning, noon and night
Blinding sun and candle light,

I’m thinking of lovers and interludes
Good and bad and in between moods
Melancholy and raucous laughter
The chance of Happy Ever After,

Things to do, places to go
Corner of the map where the four winds blow
Set the heading, the course direction
Remember the slight inflection,

Of your voice when you spoke my name
After you I was never the same
Long ago but vivid still
In my mind I always will,

Remember you and me and us
So easy then, never a fuss
But that was long long ago
And this morning I’ve got places to go,
