When plugged into what was known
the inner of my being
shocked to the throne.
Sat high on the doubts
left dormant and postponed.
By chance I stumbled
upon many deemed wiser
their words cooled the sun
and gave shade as my visor.
Then one of questionable intention
Became the gate
of epiphany and intervention.
To the west he led.
His assurance cloaked in sincerity
but his crowded bed,
left no room for security.
Fickle and discontent
to wander lifes valley alone.
The journey was mapped
so I took the long way home.
Lost and tangled
in Louisiana vines.
Forced to face the history
my lost soul once defined.
Many nights alone
with the company
of thoughts.
I fought my inner plight
to overcome the futile
vengeance it wrought.
Though the battle was won
and king of falsity overthrown.
The parallel of me
Lived and breathed
though plugged into the unknown.

My first impulse is to say to cut it down but, on the other hand, the length allows for a stronger feeling of being 'lost' and makes the feeling of recovery more pleasing.
