The emptiness has lain upon his heart,
the portion of his dreams unfulfilled.
And upon his quest of redemption,
this knight has slept in the devil's lair.
He has wandered distant lands and travelled
through many storms to find that which would
make his heart whole.
At times, this imperfect man has wondered
whether the only searching he has down has
been in the barrens of his own soul.
Each morning, the quest is the only imperative
that has driven him towards his goal.
That which has pierced the darkness and brings
light within his closed heart.
The very basis upon which his dreams have been derived.
The man has closed his eyes at night with a vision
and that has been of you.
Yet when he has awakened,
it has been in a drenched sweat.
For the rain has continue to fall upon him,
over all these months
clouding his vision, deflecting his goal.
However, the goal remains, his battered armour
protecting that which lies within.
And he perseveres,
accepting the blood he has shed,
the sacrifices made.
For he has looked up into the stars,
and seen the path shown.
And so he continues,
towards his quest.
