There it was,
a cold, steel, barbed wire fence
surrounding my freedom
like a curse
or a suffocating disease.
I fabricated this fence
slowly
day
by
day
to shut out cruelty
and keep in security.
The sting of the barbs
will harm me if I try to leave
and impede your entrance
like a rusty chastity belt.
Sealing my fate.
