A basket of words here on my desk
Thinking of you, one of the best
Lovers I’ve had, lovers I’ve known
A warm summer night with an ice cream cone,

You’ve changed your latitude, changed your direction
(I hope you’ve gotten over the infection)
It’s darker here now, yellow leaves showing
What were we thinking, where were we going,

Life’s The Adventure we choose to make
A little give, a little take
The casting of spells and lizard-tail soup
Flying a biplane through an outside loop,

So, here in the morning, my coffee cup drained
I think, last night, it may have rained
Candle burned down to the base
In the flickering light I see your face,
