Where did I go?
In the mirror I see my mother
He looks at me and sees his wife
They see in me all they need
Love, shelter, food and a chauffeur
I am lucky, I am surrounded by love
I should not complain, therefore I am not
But I question
I know I am all these things
Wife, mother, cook, cleaner, taxi driver
But what happened to me?
The real me, the person I was before all of this.
Sometimes in the still of night when everyone is asleep
I catch a glimpse and smile to myself as I remember.

I always love your poems...

they deal with real life. Although I'm not a mother or a wife I can still appreciate them. Thank you.
