Darkened skies with no end in sight
Is this how she saw it all?
Sitting on that bench all alone
Just minutes before her body would fall.

Did she plan how this day would go
How it would all come to a final end?
No more having to put on a show
Wearing smiles that were just pretend.

I wonder did she think of me
Of how much pain her little sister would bear,
Or was her life so full of misery
That she just didn't even care?

What exactly was she thinking
While she held that gun in her hand,
As she placed it just beneath her chin
Before carrying out her selfish plan.

The burn of the bullet ripping through her flesh
Was that something that she felt?
As she played that final card
From the cruel hand of which she was dealt.

I wish I could have been there
So she didn't have to die alone.
If only she had put down the gun
And instead, had reached for the phone.
