Like a coil in an infinite downward spiral
I spin continuosly toward oblivion
Clutched by the fist in the pit of my stomach I
gag on the fetid sewage that life provides me
My head encaged by my own demon thoughts is chewed
by the rats of desire who nourish themselves and feed
on the fluttering remains of my sanity
The ghostly face forever haunts my sobbing soul
Eluding my grasp it goads me into madness
and mocks my headlong dash through the valley of death
I wear my love like a shroud around burning flesh
The pain of its' weight throbs against my searing skin
Opening my heart and standing naked in my soul
Emasculated by the denial of her love
I confess to a vague priestly image of mind
Litanizing a rosary of my failures.
