Click herenot in high ceiling frescoes
but in faces of men
who are raw without divinity,
their presence earthly
with no heavenly arms about them.
yet they are gods
when woman adores,
presses her length
along their ground.
i need eye level
with booted step
and impatient heel.
i need one man
to worship.
so here i am,
looking for god.

more men than actually deserved to be worshiped, I can totally relate to this poem. Your word choices, over the years, have increased my vocab immensely, and you are the one who made me realize that I can write about whatever I desire and not have to be embarrassed or feel guilt about expressing myself.
This poem is one I wish I had been able to write for myself.
:)
Sure you don't want to use more words? JUST KIDDING! I just want this poem to be longer so I could keep reading. Especially liked "booted step and impatient heel". That adds the wonderful WE 'darkness' at the perfect place. Thanks you. Deep bows.
It's good to see some of your earlier poems being shared here. This one is right on as it explains what many of us are looking for in a lover. Our ideal is about as achievable as finding a god, thankfully, our emotions allow us to be happy with the angels we get and shared love elevates them to godhood. This is a good poem Eve, thanks for bringing it to Lit.
