Eastward, into Baptism Platter,
we follow the predicament blond,
chewing on his bones and vegetables —
the basics.

He is so 1966
and that kempt mane
of his scrubs us from God's hair.

He should have been an unwashed brunette,
full of grace.

religion...

has caused so much pain, but on the flip-side, caused so much joy. I get the feeling you would love to muss up his hair. You make an ordinary topic, which could be construed as taboo, something that makes others( myself) able to view subjects differently. You have taught me that no subject is taboo if treated with respect and honesty. Also, your sense of humor, however morbid at times, is wicked and awesome.

Agreed

Champ is right - this is a perfect piece to read with your other one. I simply adore how you can get so much emotion into a poem. Wow cubed!

Read side-by-side with your god/man poem of today, this one makes me see just how well you've grown into your poet's skin. He's still one to worship, but I can see exactly how human your man is. Excellent poem. This poem mentioned on the New Poems Review thread on Literotica's Poetry Feedback and Discussion forum.
