Oh mirror why show me what I despise
By highlighting my aging frailty
Each day I’m forced to gaze into my eyes
And wish for only immortality

A younger man with eyes as dark as coal
No hairs of gray invade his silky mane
Virtuous in body, mind, and soul
With lovers numerous who pine in vain

So answer me why torment me this way
Does it gratify your need to see me cry
When pills promise to carry me away
Or razors trace the veins that blood supply

How is it then she sees me as I was
Not old and fat and wrinkled as I am
Is it blindness or indifference to my flaws
That lets me now believe that I’m a man

Oh mirror you can kiss my fucking ass
I only need you now to part my hair
Her love my expectations far surpass
I love her more than my old heart can bear
