white the canvas
of silence which brush
set to color does endlessly play upon
words but a vessel with pigment consigned
with which mortar and pestle we deem our design

colors though concealed from sight
bleed through to reveal true nature
beginning with traces on canvas white
we ply hidden nuance each other within

golden yellow as trust certain strength, freely given as truth a must,
felled with reserve but an empty husk

ruby red as love self surrendered, embrace shedding warmth to thaw,
declared without listening but a hungry maw

emerald green as joy growing vibrant, to nourish with healing touch,
uttered without laughter plain mockery thus

obsidian black as anger held dagger, threatening self sacrifice,
borne violent in silence pains anothers life

sapphire blue as caring breeze whispers, soothing the worried heart calm,
showered without notice but an empty balm

too few unclear or untrue in intent listless
colors clot grey like a wandering mist
fey canvas shifting uncertain that threatens
and plagues the minds eye like a poltergeist

we allow ourselves in our own hearts and minds eye
people, to paint us in portraits, we trust
cast this palette of colored offering
onto silence blank canvas
we imagine thus

Brillant

Rarely do I find things that capture my imagination as did this. A truly beautiful piece with spiritual undertones.
