i wait for you
i look for you
in all the empty places
my heart races
hoping to stumble upon you
anticipation that i might see you
somewhere
anywhere
your scent fills the air
i long for your touch
straining to hear your voice
a screaming rejection your absence gives
desperately pleading
begging
a promise
i will be your everything
and more
i am drawn to the thought of you
of us
of what there could be
a fantasy my mind conjures
rising
billowing
swirling
that is all it ever was
