When this dirty town,
Starts to bring me down,
All that concrete and that steel.
And I just can't find,
Any peace of mind,
And nothing I see seems real.

I head out to the country,
Just to listen, to the trees,
I whisk away my worries,
With a soft, warm country breeze.

When these city lights,
Start to shine too bright,
And the noise makes my head ache.
Lie awake at night,
Feeling so uptight,
And I know I'm going to break.

I head out, to the country,
Where the air, if fresh and clean,
I wash away my troubles,
In a cool, clear country stream.

If this city life you're leading,
Is about to blow your mind,
Then I know just what you're needing,
What will make you feel just fine.

You better head out to the country,
Kick off, your city shoes,
Just let your spirit run free,
And lose, you city blues.
