Mother's Gifts

The clouds are standing still in gray colored skies
 filled with their nourishing rains
Drops fall steadily, gently into mother's earth
Puddling softly and slowly lowering, loving the earth's kiss
In hopes of fulfilling their destiny, feeding new growth

Tree's in the distance give the illusion of fog
They fade into the landscape , ever proud
Resisting darkened skies and forceful winds
They too are forever reaching for that special gift
Touching and feeling the warmth of  Sunny days
Their anchors holding firm to mother's sweet earth

Rain sounds splatter on the tin roof
Waking me gently from my dreams like a lovers kiss
Listening quietly I surrender to the softness,
Feeling mother earth's gift in my mind
I thank her silently and slide closer to my lovers side
Sleepy eyes flutter like  the patters of rain
A soft whisper,  a soul reaching kiss
Touch that knows no end, burns like fire
Us....
Days like these were made for love
