The FedEx package screamed
Urgent Urgent
I tossed in on the chair,
Opened it a hour later
Found a loc of your hair,
In a Baggie with your underwear
The ones you wore last week
I held them up to the light
Felt my knees go weak,
Held the up to my nose
My scent mixed with you
In that Airport Hotel room
Before the big jet flew,
In the Baggie was a note
It urged me to return
Told me that with every fire
A chance that one will burn,
Stuck your present in my pocket
Walked out to the car
Hung them from the rear view mirror
Drove down to the bar,
Had a beer, some salty nuts
Watched some girl play darts
Decided I’m a lucky man
Half Joker half King of Hearts,
