I want to swallow them
The sounds of night outside my window
Sounds but not words
Hearing his words
The fresh night air filters in
Cooling my thoughts
Sending chills along my spine
Feeling his breath on my skin
Imaginary breath
Darkness fills my room
It wants to swallow me up
No whispers in the dark
The night took away the sounds
I miss the sound of your voice
not know you posted this and am glad I caught it. I find in nice, simply stated with a good contrast between the meaning of similar lines. You must look at it to see the structure carefully to catch the wordplay. BTW, did I ever tell you thank you?
One thing I always notice is that your poetry always seem to come from the heart. They always seem to have a deep and special meaning.
Well done and with high Respect

I sensed more than two people in that room. Full of emotion, Lynn. Well done.
