Bruising, broken bones,
cutting words.
Yelling, ranting, cursing
falls on deafened ears.
Pain so common, no longer
noticed. Numb.
Your fault, made me angry.
You shouldn’t make me angry.
Your excuses.
Close but not yet
totally broken in spirit
I walk outside that iron door
today for the last time.
Head finally held high,
shoulders back.
I will not return.

I liked this idea but I think it would have been better if you had actually shown the argument and not told about your reaction.
