        e. e. cummings
and goings
I read in the back recess
of the corner store
in the Big Box shadow
of modernism,

        could have read
at home, on-line, virtually
Kindle-iPad-Apple
while eating an apple
or a peach
perhaps a banana,

but then I'd have not walked
through the noisy maze
past street fairs
people of all suits
and no suits,

       not stopped for coffee
with apple pie
ice cream melting on top
       alive with the day,

turning to night
with you
who I met
on my stroll to the Poet Corner store,

oooh very clever........

....you've even made this lady drop her capitals!

like your use of space

... it works like punctuation for me. stage directions from behind the curtain

my single, minor quibble lies with "but then I'd have not walked". my eyes/tongue trip on this each time, reading it more naturally as 'but then I'd not have walked'

i even enjoyed the final comma.

I think

this is one of your best, my opinion....
