I sat in the dark
searching for a light
reaching for a hand
to help make things right
I was drowning in sadness
screaming in pain
heartache consumed me
tears fell like rain
when I thought all was lost
death a heart beat away
I heard a faint voice
begging me to stay
then out from the shadows
came a man strong and true
he saved me from myself
that man... he was you
