I do not know their proper name.
I waited so long to find out
What secrecy was all about.

Years of curiosity wane.
And as they passed, I grew content
To disregard the message sent.

I gaze out past the window pane.
When did the world become so small?
How did I miss the casting call?

There is chaos, laughter, and pain.
Emotions are tangled, tattered,
As though perhaps once they mattered.

Into the abyss, I may deign.
Do they wonder who, what I am?
Why should I care to understand?

Pretty damned good

This pondering is pretty damned good - you might try a little tightening to the first two stanzas
