I think of you.
Your sweet, beautiful body tangled in the sheets,
looking as if you had gone twenty rounds with sleep and lost.
The body that I could spend lifetimes getting to know
and yet never really knowing.
I wonder what that body is doing right now,
and I flush with desire.
A moan gets trapped in my throat.
I think of all the things that body does with my body,
the many ways our bodies explore each other,
with fingers
and mouths,
tongues
and eyes.
I know the words to arouse that body too,
make it dance with desire,
inflame you to fever pitch,
push those buttons I know so well.
After all, I created those buttons in you.
But there are also buttons you created in me.
Words you speak that inflame my lust,
cause an ache deep in me
that can only be numbed in one way.
The age-old dance between two lovers,
the pas-de-deux of advance-retreat,
will we-won’t we?
until we surrender,
falling into the fire our hungers created
and melding our bodies into one
with the passion of our mutual yearning.
Oh, how I ache to dance with you again!
