Ode to June

Do we both share an identical madness?
A Spanish Catholic girl's, original sin.
Is she my June and I her Anaïs Nin?

Sipping absinth in a Left Bank bistro,
Seeking forbidden fruit, free of guilt or sadness.
Do we both share an identical madness?

My fall from grace her burning eyes,
Ivory satin thighs and fragrant skin.
Is she my June and I her Anaïs Nin?

I speak her name with liquid passion,
Secret parts deliquescent with gladness.
Do we both share an identical madness?

Scented fingertips touch sanguine lips
Heated cheeks burning bright fuchsin
Is she my June and I her Anaïs Nin?

Two dreams. One desire. "Come," I say,
A single word, a poem, a promise within.
Do we both share an identical madness?
Is she my June and I her Anaïs Nin?

Sincere appreciation,

Thank you for your kind words and compliments. I will soon be posting some poetic/song lyrics in the near future along with my first short story. Lyrics often fall short when not accompanied my rhythm and melody which is why I read all my verse out load

My first short story will be coming your way either later this evening, or tomorrow, sleeplessgurl.

Thank you once again for taking the time to resond, your advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Wow

Very impressive. I can see your musical, lyrical influence here.

And you are asking me for advice and encouragement... Perhaps I should be asking you! ;-)

Great start. Keep writing. Can't wait to see what else you come up with.

Very impressive. I particularly enjoyed the musicality when read slowly. I hadn't picked up on that at first.

Even absinthe without the e is exactly right. I haven't anything critical to offer. Enjoyable on several levels.
