Such a pretty place.
Before I enter asking myself,
Should I stay or travel through?

Spring, summer, fall
Or is that winter trapped in the tree?
Pretty places often frozen to me.

Looking closer I see the danger
Foremost branches
Dark and poised.

Will they block me
Prevent my return
Or set the trap to hold me without?

I've been in pretty places before.
The cruelty of loveliness
Has no bounds.

Like a drug I cannot deny
Feet betray me
Taking me inside.

Pretty places can be so cold.
Yes I'm sure that's snow
It will not melt on my face, my hair, my clothes.
