pile on the snow, two feet tall
temperatures thirty below
you can't stop spring from coming
this I wholeheartedly know

Blow the lion winds of March
hide branches and their buds
birds still know that sun is near
as ground awaits spring muds

out poke tulip and hyacinth
while winter yet still lingers
blossoms prepared to color the world
as snowflakes are caught on fingers

seasons come and seasons go
a steady beat of drumming
even when cold outstays its welcome
you can't stop spring from coming
