Lost
in a sea of longing.

Once,
We were an oasis amidst
a perfect storm.

Your every movement fluid,
a sweet wave crashing into me.
Your breath a breeze,
a whisper across my flesh;
I shiver.
Your rhythm and mine,
a delicious ebb and flow,
beating against the plains and curves of you and I
in sacred embrace.
The peak of our pleasure crests,
a tidal wave that drags me under,
even as it lifts me up;
pushes me toward the sun.
I burn, I cry out.
Stars explode behind my eyes.
I am spent and soaking in the aftermath.

And then the moon rises,
changing the tides,
illuminating the valleys and smooth expanses that our entanglment creates.
And the sea, once calm, rebels.
Raging, as once more desire rises.
This renewed storm comes quickly,
sweeping us away.
As it breaks over us,
I am thrown against the shore,
left feeling battered
but fulfilled.
My body tired, sated.

This vast sea of memory teases.
like a warm wind against chilled skin,
a feather light kiss upon eager lips;
a promising caress.

You've since left me
not quite broken on the rocky shore of wanting.
Navigating unexplored bodies
to forget the feel of you,
whos every curve and rise
and flow and peak
I know as my own.
You left me an empty bed
where once love filled,
sweet water flooding
the hidden places.

And still
I ache for you.
