love- synonymous with jeopardy
once the ego drops
& steps lead beyond the boundaries
of childlike grace into a world
fraught with illusion
a narrow dark path of karma

what seems so simple
as the last piece of puzzle
yet, it doesn't fit, wont fit
& all the bending & pushing
is as vain as drinking the ocean dry

so we drown in our sorrow
yet, death escapes us
& only the covenant of untouched day
sows the seeds of hope
a lover's rainbow after the flood

but seeds of hope are enough
