Hopes and expectations
these are killers of the romantic heart
for nothing can ever meet them
the mind is to much for any heart
we dream we wish we hope we crave
and reality always a disappointment
left with nothing pure to meet our face
songs of love and words of feeling
the things we strive to hold on to
because nothing next to them is pure
they're the only things to stay with us
we humans...our needs and our love
so simple so basic so much dreaming
yet...what would we be without them
just another animal surviving
so it seems that it's all the best of us
though...I wonder...why it kills some of us
each of you..know what I mean
it's not just words....
it's a real thing
