--- a sonnet for secret trysts ---

Through wood's fogged dale, my feet don't have to guess
For neither branch nor creek assails the clothes
Which wrap the heart that beats with scarlet bows
For one so dear that sweat draws 'tween my breasts.

Her cottage close, my breath flows out like mist
And quickened pace betrays my careful plans
To reach her bed and wake her with my hands.
Obsessive love longs for two lips once kissed.

The door swings out, air bathed in her perfume.
In blue moonlight, she drinks the draught of dreams.
I drop my dress and dance between the beams
Of skin so soft and eyes that will consume.

'Tween sheets, I touch to rouse her rosed desire.
She squirms and casts some fuel upon our pyre.
