TWO PATHS CROSSED

I came to a place
Where two paths had crossed,
And then at first
I thought I was lost.

But then I thought
Of what I might find,
As around the mountain
Both paths did climb.

Yes if I took the path
That did slowly descend,
I would surely come down
From the mountain at end.

But if I took the path
That went up so high,
Then soon atop the mountain
The world I would spy.

So whether I went down
And looked up from below,
Or whether I went up
To the sites the mountain would bestow.

I would not be lost
I would not despair,
For I’d know both paths
Had equal beauty to share.

So whenever I find
Two paths that have crossed,
I think of the beauty found
Not what might have been lost...BWL
