soft Rain
falling like whispers
                                  across the meadows
sweet nothings
like the carcass of the gazelle
eaten here,
limb from limb
                                  organ to organ
crimson staining
the verdant One
                                  Ravenous      consumed

roaring breakers
tumbling into small
                                  pools of liquid apathy

Whimpers
                                  and moans
cut through the bedlam
why is there a need?
                                  No fires burn
nor rain
                                  quench that thirst

burning inside the
                                  Other.
