Great pairing of title and poem

I really like this. It intrigued my imagination.

Just imagine how someone would have described a plane 300 years ago. I imagine your character being simply unsophisticated when it comes to modern conveniences like the mailbox, probably indoor plumbing, soap. lol

You should consider doing more along these lines.

This part is especially good:

"I am amazed at the box out by the road,

it always seems to have paper to unfold.

It sits on a perch of a wooden post,

Its metal and hollow white as a ghost."

Very poetic.
