Like the image and the words. I like the dark illustration and the poem is good enough to stand alone. I love when a good poem and illustration bump into each other and stick.

This is excellent!

I agree with Eve--not only is the poem great, but the illustration works beautifully with it--the colors are great and darkly autumnal, and the faded repetitions are like whispers or echoes. Lovely, Randi. :)

To my jaded eyes...

...far too many illustrated poems are forced to being mundane and cliche by art that makes me say "pull-eeze". (It's the whole "Hallmark curse" thing).

This is a wonderful and surprising exception!
