Remember

Hard to leave a PC on this one when im still choked up. you did a wonderful job of showing just how the writer of this letter feels so deeply for the person responsible for making huge decisions. great job, sweetie

Some things...

...shouldn't be easy to read. The horrible decision one would have thrust upon them in such a time. So hard to give up hope. So hard to think you might be doing wrong either way. So horrible and yet so necessary that any of us should have to think about it...

Eloquent,

intimate, passionate in the true sense of the word. This piece left me humbled, saddened and uplifted at the same time. I was glad of the tears on my cheek....it allowed me to know I can still feel deeply. Thank you for this. xxx

A very thought provoking story

Thank God I wasn't put in that position when my wife passed away. Jesus. what an agonizing letter to have to respond to one way or the other. Yet you can feel mutual love even though the story is one-sided.

Tears for Amicus?

Well...at least, according to other comments, I wasn't alone in experiencing a rather intense emotion at your writing. Very well done, and tender and gentle and something more...

In this somewhat jaded and cynical world, where people change loves and lovers as often as underwear, it is refreshing to see that kind of all encompassing love written about and spoken of; a love that transcends time, another fairytale from the past perhaps, but what a lovely dream. Thanks again, Imp, a pleasure to read and enjoy....John...

very emotional, excellent writing

Breath taking, from all points of view. I've been widowed, at a young age - I know THAT pain. My husband of 30 years has had three heart attacks, and I've been in the position of fearing his last breath, to lose my lover and friend. Then, I had a near-fatal stroke, which put him in that horrible situation.

Your beautiful description of love, intimacy and at the last moments of our life, how THAT defines who we are - is memorable.

Writer to writer, excellent work.

Damn you, where's my Kleenex?!!!!!

Imp, dammit, you're going to reduce me to a puddle. This is so amazingly heartfelt...touching. You've described a love everyone deserves to know before they leave this earth. Love like this makes up for not being hugged enough as a child...and any other dysfunction that ails ya.

My hat's off to you.....Queen of the written word
