A very well written piece. You let the disjointed observations of your character give the work just the right "feel". even though the omittance of names and the "plate against the fence" were rather deliberate touches, you pulled them off beautifully and stressed them just enough so as to avoid cliche. all in all, a thouroughly enjoyable read.

You portrayed very well the isolation, secrecy and shame experienced by someone in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. Sad in this case, made all the more isolating because the victim is a closeted lesbian.

Its a great story so glad I found it.
