Great story. Well written. To Islam, Arab the story was meant to be ironic. That is by emphasizing the the apparent narrow mindedness and ignorance of Americans in regards to people from the Middle East the author was actually pointing out how shallow their views are. Once the principal character got to know and talk to them he realized they were no different from him. In the case of Miriam she turned out to be a very "hot" Middle Eastern woman - although she would have been "hot" whether she was Middle Eastern or not !! In my experience many Middle Eastern women are "hot" just as many Western women are. In fact one was so hot I married her 26 years ago when we met at graduate school in the United Kingdom.

This is a good story. Could have been divided a little and the different stories developed some more.
