This chapter was well written, but confusing. I can understand Stan's reaction, although he should have been more subtle. I really don't understand Anne's reaction. At the end of the story, when she told off Denise, she seemed to ratify what Stan had done.

Perhaps Anne did need to ratify what Stan had done. Or at least what he was trying to do for a friend.

Perhaps now she will be ready to talk with him.
