thats IT? Thats the 10 chapter story?

what a huge let down.

<br></br>

Come on werent you laughing when Chris was trying to get out the room shrieking like some 7 year old boy trying to get out the front door to reach the ice cream truck before it leaves ?

<br></br>

But WAIT!!! yes folks Ralph now HE has to have a secret important conversation with Chris... Hope it doesnt take ANOTHER 10 chapters.

<br></br>

Ralph secret about Susan's interference -- when it gets revealed in chapter 11 or 12 or 13 or 14 or 15...is IRRELVANT to what MOLLY did.

<br></br>

Molly intentionally cheated. All this time it has been about Her. Her shame. How SHE felt about Her own betrayal. Not for 1 second did she ever think about CHRIS and that at the very least he deserved a full explanation and an apology. <b>Fuck she was not even aware that she had never gotten around to saying sorry Chris you dont deserve this. WHY? Because Chris' pain -- the man she supposedly LOOOOOVES SOOO MUCH never registered with Molly. </b>

<br></br>

so then Molly and Susan come up with idiotic scheme -- yes I know Susan had ulterior motives-- to tell the man she loves so much ... the man she cheated on... that she was going to marry Peter... <b>HOPING TO BRING CHRIS BACK???? </b>

<br></br>

Thats love? Not even close..... Run Forest run!!!

well, that's it?

at least we heard quite a lot this chapter, and no doubt there is more to come.<BR>

Why did Chris not confront her about Peter's predatory ways? If he spilled a hot kettle on his cock he certainly would not have been fucking anyone minutes later... What a lame set up for a supposedly intelligent woman to fall for!!<BR>

And, can someone explain to me why the most strident naysayers are always anonymous???

Bravo

Damn fine chapter. If you can't communicate, how can you live together; let alone be married to one another?

Molly is nuts!

This was a fast-paced chapter that ended too quickly. Now I am anxious for the next one. Having waited for Molly to finally speak I found her story almost frightening in both its content and retelling. She paints a picture of being drugged in some fashion and having succumbed to a friendly voice, and some pheromone agent in a carefully planned seduction.

Like Chris, I believe that she is truly sorry, and also woefully naïve and weak. After her soliloquy, I understand why Chris tried to literally run from her when she first appeared. This woman has BIG ISSUES. In the vernacular of the moment, she is definitely psycho. Her treatment of Peter over the four years makes little sense and seems borderline sadistic. Don’t get me wrong, Peter is the villain in this tale, but Molly is almost as sick.

Why does this woman think that getting naked in a locked room in her parents house with her ex-husband is an appropriate way to express her remorse? That’s just plain crazy. This woman needs counseling, and the sooner the better.

By the end of this chapter, I thought Chris had shown significant maturity in not falling at her feet and in not allowing Ralph to continue playing games his way. He left to think about all that transpired. If he ever was to have a compelling reason to move on from Molly, her little display in this chapter was it.

In response to Kanga

Attack the message instead of the messenger. That's in large part why people who say negative things remain anonymous. The more you bitch and moan about it the more it proves why anonymous critics should remain anonymous......As to this chapter it was nice to finally have answers. Again I'm not sure anyone in this story deserves happiness. Critical Popeye.

concur with previous posters

if there's any thing that ought to really have nudged Chris towards moving on, without Molly, this would have been it. <p>

unlike Salamis, I didn't think the "sex appeal" was totally psychotic; it's surely a bit radical, but I'm sure Molly knew it was one of the truly last offerings she could do, to try to steer the dialogue in a more sexually oriented way, to mitigate her crimes (not only against Chris but also against her current husband). <p>

now, if Molly HAD DIVORCED Peter when they had this discussion, where there's no "insurance" of any kind on her part, for her, THEN, yes, I would give her more credence. but this whole disucssion, despite her confessions, note that Molly still kept repeating that Peter was really not a bad person at all? that she was actually the bad one?, which was/is true. Molly knew about her actions; and for herself, even her actions were not acceptable. <p>

but notice she excuses her having sex with Chris, the ex, in a way that MITIGATE her crime of adultery, the same way she excused her having sex with Peter while still married to Chris? same attitude: childish, selfish, unconcerned for the PERSON whom she was hurting. from one man to other, she always had a good reason/excuse: it's what she wants AT THAT MOMENT.... <p>

of course, it is not really Molly's fault that she did NOT know the Peter Davies that Dennis, Chris, Piers, and the other folks know ---- Molly's one of these beautiful but semi airhead women: always smiling beautifully and usually have a good figure about her in some superficial way; but if you dig deeper, there's not a whole lot deep within... All these years Molly's oblivious to the fact that Peter and others seduced a lot of married women. <p>

but in some ways, Molly could not afford to burn all bridges, at this point, not knowing how Chris was goign to react to her eternal love declaration. 'tis why she keeps saying Peter still loves her a lot!; she does not understand that the first time that tactic didn't get Chris to seize her and hold her tight and declare his eternal love, either, saying "Im not letting you out of my sight from now on..." <p>

what makes Molly think after being married to another man for 4 years, that her keeps saying that other man would still love her dearly ---- no matter what Chris decides --- was gonna endear her more lovingly to Chris? again, if she HAD already divorced Peter, Chris would be in a more awkward situation: here, the woman had loved so much and had lost had tried to make a comeback, and she went out on a limb, with no "safety" net beneath her.... telling him either with him or all alone by herself, with her two sons and it would be a lonely life but that she was willing to suffer, since she's the one who created the situation.... <p>

but it's not like that, is it? it is, "Peter still loves me very much... it's just that I don't love him.... I try hard, Chris, you must believe me... I try hard to be loving to my husband.... I did it with you and I do it with Peter.... but Peter is just not you!" WTF! I mean, does she expect Chris or any one in his she to giggle and say, "Honey, that's right. I'm the man, your true man, and don't you forgit it! only me's he one who could satisfy you, we both know that!"?? <p>

instead of all that nonsense about Peter being a good guy, etc., she could simply have said, "I made a terrible decision which resulted in a major life altering mistake, shattering our life togehter almost 5 years ago; Peter ensured that that mistake took place. but whatever he wanted, or wants, I don't really care any more. I will owe up to my mistake and ask you not to turn your back on me... and even if you do, I will have to face the consequences of my mistake alone. I want no one else but you and if I don't have you, then I will have no one else...." <p>

why not that argument? Because Molly's not very bright. all this preparation on Ralph's part --- the poor old man, with his wife lying and possibly doing some other things to him..... here his only kid.... she's a babbling idiot, determined to sabotage a serious chance for a real reconciliation with her boys' father.... We are sure she'd cry and then wipes her tears and then drive back to good old, loving (if not loved) Peter, to try to repair the damage she's caused in the house, too. <p>

Chris brother Brian's right all along: Chris should not invest that much time, energy, or emotional investment with a woman of Molly's lack of substantiality/intelligence and sense of fidelity, loyalty, and honesty and decency...

AnonymousAnonymousover 16 years ago
I Almost Rated You 00.

I tough you were going to reconciliate Chris with Molly. You made a good point... They are not the same persons that separated 5 years prior. They grew apart. There's only a teenager fantasy that Molly dreams about reunite with 'the love of her life'.

There are two villians: Susan and Peter. One is a predator and the other a sociopath bitch, that doesn't care if she hurts her daugther and grandsons if that suits her desires. Everybody else are victims with some blame over their shoulders.

Of Course I'm Anonymous, but only because I don't want to register. Ok?

What a ride!

Boy, I hope Ralph has something really important to reveal. I think he does - it was important enough to make him refer to his wife as a cunt and put her out of the house, at least temporarily. Ralph is going to have to have some pretty potent info to move this story to a place where a reconcilliation could be even remotely justified. What we have now is a very selfish and self-centered Molly who didn't seem to care how much pain she causes others so long as she minimized her own. She loves Chris ever so much but doesn't have the decency to even apologize for her betrayal. It didn't occur to her to apologize for something she WANTED to do, she wanted it, therefore it was justified. She marries Peter and swears she's a good wife. But she's never really his wife. He may not be an ideal example of a man, but does that justify Molly toying with his emotions and leading him to waste his life in pursuit of a dream she has no intention of letting him achieve? Gary, I'm a romantic at heart, but my hopes for a justifiable reconcilliation are growing fainter just when I expected them to be getting stronger. Will Ralph be able to save the day? Tune in tomorrow and hang on, this ride ain't over yet.

can't help but wonder

about a few things...... why does molly's slogan 'you get what you pay for' bother me...... why does molly's confession, "you're right, I don' think i ever did say i was sorry for the actual act of betrayal itself," bother me...... why does molly's reply, "i don't know," to chris' question, "was he a good lover," bother me...... why are molly's action always innocent and the people involved are always nice. she and peter went to his apartment with no intention of doing anything wrong. she and susan sent the email to chris informing him of peter's proposal and her intended acceptance only as a wake-up call for chris. she and ralph went to see chris just before the divorce so that molly could tell chris how she really felt. but we now know, that she not only didn't tell him, she also let ralph believe that she did...... why did molly let everyone believe that chris setup and planned that friday afternoon tryst..... why did molly let her boy's believe that their father may have been cheating on her...... why did everyone in the beginning believe that peter and molly had a good marriage and were happy..... why does molly seem to use sex to manipulate the two men in her life..... i have no idea at this point where gary is going with this story, but he has all the options a writer could ask for to take it in any direction that he so desires.

What an oppressive burden of inconsequential bullshit. None of the these mind games offer anything but pathetic excuses. She is just like her game-playing slut bitch mother. Let's let this bitch step in front of a lorrie and get this think wrapped up. I think he knows finally that he really doesn't love Molly half as much as he thought he did. A boring marriage to a decent woman, is twice better than the most romantic life with this cheater.

More Evidence This Woman Can't be Trusted

"Chris, please.. would you?" <p>

For a moment I was tempted. But then I felt some of the emotions that were coursing through me, the hurt and the growing anger. <p>

"No, Molly. I won't. Not because I couldn't.." I took her hand and placed it on my erect cock, through my trousers, "But because I shouldn't. I'm not sure what emotions I would unleash if I had sex now. I don't trust myself. Please, get dressed. I've got more questions." <p>

She looked disappointed, but she started to slowly dress. It was simply a reverse of her undressing, but I watched it. <p>

+++++++++++++++ <p>

Didn't Molly say while she's still legally married to Peter, that afternoon at her place was going to be the only one extra marital sex she would have? Can this woman's words be trusted? <p>

People who love her character are going to say, "Well, it's all Peter's fault for destroying Molly and Chris's family, so Peter deserves this kind of infedility from Molly." <p>

Really? So, Molly's willing participation no longer counts, because Peter has been seducing married left and right? ... <p>

The fact of the matter is, (1) Peter's crimes of seducing married women and (2) Molly's crimes of fucking around on her husbands are TWO mutually exclusive things, even though they come together when the two practitioners happen to come together. But the one person, and the one set of crimes, do not in any way lessen, much less excuse, the other person and/or his/her crimes. <p>

Prediction: Molly's punishment is to be with a guy like Peter for ever, knowing that he will, from this point on, cheat as he had before, because he knows he will never get fidelity, love, or loyalty from her. <p>

"Look at these lips...no, not my pussy.... up here... Chris," Molly proudly proclaims: "They have never been touched by Peter's cock!" Her lips are virginal! <p>

Now, ain't that precious, y'all?! LOL

Mush, and I'm not riding a dog sled

Let me see if I understand the problem. Molly couldn't figure out how to say "I'm sorry" to the man she claims was the love of her life so in a fit of emotional pique decides that silent acceptance of the divorce was the only course open to her. The number of holes in that particular sequence of rambling babble would require an entire battalion of engineers to fill. Under <I>naive</I> and <I>brain-dead</I> in the dictionary, it says "See her." I was particularly amused by Molly's claim that she just couldn't figure out how to talk to Chris about her affair because he was being such a great dad. Say what?!

<P>

I refuse to believe Molly's claim that Chris was the love of her life because you do not commit adultery on your spouse if you love them. It is the ultimate disrespect, and her inability to discuss what she did and clear the air between her and her husband is indicative of what she really thinks of him.

<P>

Chris is flawed and weak as well. He can't communicate with Molly at a time when their marriage desperately needs clarity instead of confusion, plain-speaking instead of obfuscation and straightforwardness instead of evasion. This pernicious lack of communication between them ends the marriage, and time has not improved their situation. I wonder how they managed to stay married as long as they did.

<P>

The real mystery to me is Peter. Why he would take up with an airhead like Molly is incomprehensible. Even more incredible, his wife doesn't love him and makes sure he understands that she doesn't. I can't imagine what would coerce him into staying with Molly? Their sex life is blah, his stepsons dislike him, and his wife doesn't love him. I guess I'm just too simple-minded to see what a good deal ol' Peter has gotten. If it were me, I'd hit the door running but then again, I'm jaded and crass. I suppose the author will spin some fantastic side-story about how Susan's now-deceased second cousin left her beau coup pounds so she's paying Peter to stay married to Molly while the mother-in-law fucks him on Wednesday afternoons. Shades of Just Plain Bob! :D That'd certainly jazz up the storyline, and it makes about as much sense as anything else in this tale.

<P>

I can't give this batch of brain-addling mush a good mark because the plot is nonsensical, the characters improbably unbelievable, and the central conflict resolved with a whimper instead of a bang. The author pens great prose but these characters and this plot stink.

the continuing saga...

<p>First, to the poster who asked why the most scathing comments are always from someone named anonymous: In this case, anonymous is Harry in VA who has been banned by GaryAPB from posting comments.</p>

<p>Christ, this story is about two unlikeable, weak people who everyone perceives to be likeable and strong. Chris and Molly don't share one backbone between them. Reconcile? Don't reconcile? Who gives a damn?</p>

<p>Somehow and eventually over the course of each interminadable chapter, the side story of Peter and Susan will be revealled. Are they having an affair? Was this all a plot to get to Ralph's money? Does Ralph have any money? Deoes anybody are?

<p>Sorry, but I read this because it is like watching a train wreck. In many ways it is horrible but one just can't turn one's eyes away from the destruction.</p>

<p>The amount of things in this story that actually advanced the plotline could barely fill a 3 or 4 chapter story. We are at 10 and counting.</p>

You have set the bar so F****** high

This is what used to be referred to in Track and Field as a Beamonesque effort. Back in the sixties Bob Beamon set a long jump record that was vastly superior to what had been previous established. It was considered an aberration. He never jumped that far again. It lasted for over three decades. No, I am not that old as several of you have reminded me in your anonymous e-mails, I am still wet behind the years. However, it would not surprise me if Gary does not again rise to the occasion . The beauty of this gift, is that it keeps on giving. I can read it whenever I want. I don't know if Lit keeps track of statistics on comments but this has to be the all time leader. Thank you my friend. Jen

still painted in the corner

I responded to chapter 9 but it never got posted. Probably my dumb fault but you never know. Anyway, I said that I liked GaryAPB's writing style. I also said that I didn't mind the loooong development, unlike some of the commentators.

Up to this chapter, we had other events and the running of the business as good diversion and sidelights, making the story seem more realistic. Good thing too, because the marital/sex life of the characters is, as more than adequately explained by most of the commentary, UNREAL! I know the some statistics indicate that 60% of married women are unfaithful. (Men too, by the way.) The overwhelming excuse is lack of attention. Molly, who admits to lots of caring attention, therefore falls into her own special category, that of paid plenty of attention by an almost white knight kind of guy and still finds sex with another to be unavoidable. "I never thought going back to his place would lead to such a thing." Come on!

Chris has his fixation with Molly and in gaining understanding of what really was going on. I can understand that. Been doing it myself for thirty years. It doesn't go away.

Still this chapter had no diversions, no asides. The behavior described was bizarre at the very least but that's more like real life than fiction. I really couldn't buy Molly's strip down with Da and her in-laws in the next room. All that blather about sex positions and practices has already been tagged as phony logic. As a former president notoriously said, "I didn't have sex..." If Molly defines being faithful to Chris by only repeating her first exact choice of activities, I'd hate to depend on her being able to cook a balanced meal.

Chris has been soft in the head. I hope he can get his feet under him. Just because he's an executive doesn't mean he's 100% logical. The recently retired BP president is an example, as is the woman who was one of the first pioneers in the executive suite, who lost it with somebody or other. (Sorry, just can't remember who or what company but maybe Bendix.) Come on Chris, wake up, realize that Molly can't think straight and that your original plan, which was "just to be good friends," is the best one for you and the boys. Maybe Myra of the shaved pubis isn't so bad after all.

Well done - keep on going!

Another enjoyable, if mildly confusing cast of players. I admire your tenacity in the face of some odd, if illiterate, comments. A good diversion from the weather, at least, and an amusing and salutary tale of possible human behaviour. Keep up the good work and thanks.

Comedy of errors

Gary, my expectations about this story have been met. You are telling the story of three people who have been miserable for the last four years. You have done a great job with the story line and I can see it either heading towards a big romantic reconciliation as Chris and Molly realize what fools they have been, or reconciling to the point of respect and friendship, where they can have some type of relationship and move on to love other people.

"<""p"">"

But, there is one item that surprised me. In her confession, Molly sounded extremely naive about Peter's intentions. Either she is so caught up in her own guilt that she can't recognize the signs of Peter's efforts to seduce her (finding an excuse to undress and then standing behind her while murmuring in her ear? How blind is she?) or she is a total innocent.

"<""p"">"

When is Chris going to burst her bubble about Peter's intentions. Whether through vindictiveness or in an effort to allieviate some of her guilt, I can't believe that Chris didn't tell her about Peter's past history and his admission to Piers about how the affair started.

"<""P"">"

Anyway, this next conversation with Ralph should hopefully resolve some of the conspiracy between Peter and Susan. Maybe even the Wednesday's off. With the way you built it up, I'm beginning to suspect that Susan has been aiding and abetting Peter in cheating on Molly to keep him happy since Molly has limited their sex life. After all, Susan has altready shown that she would go to great lengths to keep her grandkids around Bristol. If she would work to break up a marriage, why not help the second wife cheat if that will keep him happy.

Good story Gary, you have the readers interest

The mark of a good story teller lies in the passionate responses of the readers. Some here are over the edge, others are just immersed in analysis of the story line and characters.

I like the tale for the most part and can hardly wait for the next chapter(s). My own opinion as an anonymous commenter, is not mean spirited, or particularly critical. I think that Gary has created two characters who he may allow to get back together, but if not, they will never be completely happy with others. They are each flawed in their own way, but that is a very common human condition.

There are a number of loose ends to tie up and I am not sure that it can be done in one more chapter.

She let Peter use her in the marriage....lame same old same old sex but with "FREQUENCY". man that still would have pissed me off that she never denied him. I think Peter's Wednesday's was to have nasty raunchy sex with someone else that he came to enjoy prior to the marriage...and Molly's description of her marriage to Peter was one step below from wearing a big "A" on her forehead. HOW TRITE THESE RELATIONSHIPS ARE....SO UNREALISTIC.

I am seriously getting tired of those commentators who believe that every literary character has to react in the same way they would. You know what? This whole world is made up of people who have a multitude of ideas, emotions, experiences and personality traits which can lead to infinite possibilities. Not everyone communicates clearly and honestly with the ones they love. To be scared of the reaction, especially a suspected strongly adverse reaction, is human nature. I still do not understand how people read this far into a story they obviously detest. You need a different hobby.<br><br>Beyond one chapter that was a little slow, I have found this story to be captivating. I eagerly look forward to each installment waiting to see where Gary is taking it. I cannot state that I agree with each and every plot turn but that has not lessened my enthusiasm for the reading. It merely helps me realize the difference in an individual's outlook. Well written stories are to be appreciated. I am thinking that Susan will have quite a comeuppance before this is all over. She is a key background character that will come to the forefront before it is all said and done. I don't envy Ralph having to talk to Molly about what he knows or suspects. I imagine the discussion he had with Susan after Chris left was therapeutical for things he has probably held back over time.<br><br>Frankly, I do not like most loving wife reconciliation stories but in this one I am hoping that Chris can think or rationalize a way he can live with meshing his old life with his new one. I think he would be a better person for it.<br><br>Looking forward to tomorrow.

Average-JoeAverage-Joeover 16 years ago
The Wednesdays are for nasty raunchy sex

with Susan (the mother-in-law if I got the name wrong) :) Susan is an old slut from way back and the reason she was pushing Molly to be with Peter was to keep a stud on the string. She is too old to do it with her own looks now so she was trading her hot daughter to a prig for weekly sex. The reason she hates Chris is because he ignored her advances. Just kidding in case its not obvious :)<p><p>

Anyway, the story is still good but Im starting to dislike Molly a bit. She seems to talk about having people take care of her too much for me. She was willing to trade her body to Peter for financial security and that sounds a lot worse than if she had actually married for love imo. Kinda makes her a whore and has to make Chris wonder if he is looking at the past through rose colored glasses when he says she is a strong woman who follows her heart. <p><p>

I really have no idea whats going to happen next. It could be that ralph's secret is just that Susan was working behind the scenes to break up the marriage with Chris and make her stay with Peter. It could be something much more sinister. Whatever happens, its getting harder and harder for me to visualize a happy reconciliation with Molly. At the very least, she is dumb as a post. At the worst, she is a whore who we have to wonder is just after Chris for his earning potential (and that she went with Peter for his inheritance which is now gone). Hope the author has something up his sleeve to redeem Molly at least a little or else it will be sad that Chris wasted so much time on her (during and after the marriage) even if they dont get together. <p><p>

Still on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapter(s). Thanks very much for writing.

PS - everyone defending Peter is getting a bit hard to stomach as well. Why does everyone keep insisting he is a nice guy when its pretty clear that he isnt? If I was in Chris' shoes (i.e. still mad), I would be going off my rocker when people kept telling me what a good guy Peter was.

More convoluted than ever

I am truly entertained by this story. It's better than any soap opera on TV. I am waiting now for the amnesic heroine with the hidden baby, the one that is second cousin to Molly, but sister to Chris. lol

One of the reasons why I have kept reading this story is because I’ve been waiting for some some kind of logic that would justify their behaviour and/or the scenarios presented in this story which would take them out of soap opera characters to more realistic characters per se. But chapter by chapter it hasn't happened. First, what does Chris means by Molly being“the great love of his life.” Does this mean that he will always love Molly or that he will never love another the way he loved Molly or could it be that he will never love again, period. If this is true we are heading toward a reconciliation no matter what. But if Molly was the great love of his life, how couldn’t he have fought for her instead of rushing to a divorce? I kept thinking how could two people love one another when they can’t even manage to speak to each other? Their gut instinct is to avoid meaningful conversation. This time it finally happened because they were shut in a room, and still, Chris was desperately trying to escape. He didn’t want to hear! But...after hearing Molly’s explanation of how she ended up in bed with Peter and the reason why she married him who could blame him? The award for the most outrageous, too stupid to live, illogical, one brain cell heroine goes to Molly. Crap, I had liked her until this chapter. Is she a blonde because damn, I can’t get over her thought process or actions, including the way she describes dearest Peter to Chris with full details of her sex life...yeah, right, that should go well toward a reconciliation, explaining in minute detail how they fucked, how those virginal lips never touched his dick, lol, how she let her pussy hair go wild, so she didn’t want him to see, etc. etc. etc....and because Molly thinks that everything is solved with sex, she suddenly goes "lets have sex" so she strips! I swear I was laughing through this passage because from soap opera it turned into a farce. The only logical statement, the only true statement throughout this chapter is when Chris explains that there was too much water under the bridge, too much time had passed. They were different people at different points of their lives. Nevertheless, I will be curious to see how the author ties this story because I’m still hooked which means that probably now I will start watching soap operas on TV. Woe is me.

Incidentally, I wish the harping about anonymous comments would stop. I know that some posters might be rude. I feel sorry for that, but that doesn’t mean that anonymous comments are not valid or that the people who post anonymously are cowards. It’s just that we have no interest in creating an identity for literotica. That is our decision and our right. Don’t insult the reader. Still should the authors feel that this is a requirement – should the authors NOT want anonymous comments – please let us know so that we, the anonymous posters, do not post anymore.

Chris- Jekyll & Hyde

The emotion of the story is good but the Molly and Chris are just maddening! Molly is an airhead if she still thinks that Peter wasn't trying to seduce her and her behavior after the adultery and during the divorce is just plain idiotic. I assume we will find out how much influence Susan had on Mollys behavior during this time period.

Chris examines all the facts in business before making a decision (whether to sell a building or fire an employee). He gets all the facts and then makes a decision. In his dealings with Molly, he is completely the opposite. He assumes what she is feeling during their divorce without actually getting the facts. When Molly is describing her first time with Peter, she says she wasn't drugged or seduced and Chris doesn't say a word. He knows that it isn't true because of his talk with Piers about Peter and he just heard her describe a lunch in which she was plied with Gin, Wine and Grappa. In my book, alcohol is a drug. Yet Chris sits there and doesn't say a word. He is also silent when discussing the fight between Susan and Ralph. He knows that it to do with his discussion with Ralph about Molly but lets Molly assume that it had to do with her Aunt & Uncle. He is always holding back his emotions like this is terrible thing to do. He needs to get his head of his ass and tell Molly some of the things he knows. She feels sory for Peter but we all know that he deserves everything he is getting

I'm looking forward to the time when Susan and Peter finally get their just rewards.

My Reaction to Being Locked in The Room

I realize it wouldn't have advanced the story line, but...

If I had been Chris locked in a room with Molly, I would have used my cell phone, called Ralph & Susan's home phone, told them they had two minutes to unlock the door. If they didn't in two minutes, I would have called the police and told them I was being held against my will.

tying lose ends

I think the Peter and Susan on Wednesdays angle has some validity; I would certainly like to know what's going on there. When I first starting reading this segment, I was so disappointed that it was going to be Molly confess, chris forgive - I'm so glad that was not it. I like Chris' response to both Molly and Ralph, though I think having Chris' parents show up is rather cheesy, just as kissing and making everything all better would be too trite.

I am really enjoying this story - maybe the first non-sexual series I've ever followed on this site. Keep up the good work; lets have more and faster please.

Finally!

Ten chapters to get them together. Man! This is slow. But I always enjoy a ride at slower speeds than when going down the expressway. Please Gary, just let us hear from Ralph before Chapter 20:>)

I really liked Molly better before this chapter. I thought of her as a victim before. Now I just feel she is a little ditzy. We know Peter was out to seduce her. He plies her with alcohol. Let's count the drinks; one G&T, about 3 glasses of wine (she had more than her share of the bottle, and you can bet Peter kept her glass filled) and two glasses of grappa, a concentrated liqueur. That's 6 dinks in the space of one lunch (an hour?) going inside a small woman. I think she was a little under the influence. Then he takes her up to his apartment, finds an excuse to take off his clothes, and instead of putting something on he comes up behind her and starts kissing her on the neck. But NO...she says she wasn't "Drugged or seduced". He was "a decent man and it wasn't his fault. He's really a nice guy!" Didn't he say it was "something special, something magical"? She had to believe him. After all, he's such a nice guy.

I love happy endings, but at this point I'm starting to think that Gary believes the happy ending here would be to have Chris get over Molly and get on with his life.

AnonymousAnonymousover 16 years ago
Ack!

Good writing structure but dragging the story out with too much nonsense. Molly always running away and acting like a twit. She is one stupid woman. Not ignorant, but truly stupid. I wouldn't think any man would want someone like her. Very doubtful if any man who had been put through what this woman put him through would even consider for one minute taking someone like her back. I can understand, to a limited extent, a person being fed up with drama and not pushing for answers, but he does have questions and does not push.

As to happily ever after, it doesn't mean the original couple will end up together. Sometimes it ends happiest with them not together. Personally, this couple should never be reunited.

why so many Anonymous Posts

as general rule when reviewers like Thebullet and Alvaron and Salamis start to sound like that Harry jerk its not a good sign ya know?

<br></br>

Second my understanding is that a BAN from posting feedback is an IP ban. Therefore the Anonymous posts cant be allowed. It a Good theory Thebullet proposed but an IP ban kills that possibility.

<br></br>

still I think the Banning may have scared off some posters from using the known alias. The irony is that this Harry jerk had actually been a lot better over the last several weeks.

To reconcile or to NOT reconcile

that is the question!

<br></br>

One thing that I have noticed is this trend over the last several chapters for a split or schism between those who think this is really good story ( handing out 100s with every feedback comment) versus those who think that the story has serious flaws and problems (and are handing out 0s 25s and 50s ). As this story Drags on this is increasing.

<br></br>

Why is that? Several reasons --- ONE is is that SOME readers expect more from this writer given the quality of his previous work. <b> And after 10 chapters it seesm reasonable that you should be at least to some understanding of the motivation behind the characters. </b>

<br></br>

For example NOW we now why Molly reacted the way she did every time she ran into Chris with some woman near him. That make sense given her shame over her actions.

<br></br>

But the Lenght of this LOOONG story really hurts Chris actions in the story and the likelihood of any Reconcilation. All this deep back ground and subtilties we know of Chris maks his reactons harder to figure and MOLLY less and less lkeable.

<br></br>

To be sure a lot of people get goofy around their spouse ... they lose their minds and their ability to think rationally. Clearly that is what is going on with Chris who seems to have lost his ability to be professional objectivity .

<br></br>

If Chris was within character that Gary set up he should of NOT been trying the rip off the door of the locked room. Chris the cold professional CEO should of been sat calmly and coldy while Molly blathered on... the got up and walked out or kicked out the door and left.

<br></br>

<b>Clearly then Chris is NOT rational around his ex wife. WHY? What is the attraction? What is it about Molly that attracts Chris so strongly he shuts down his intellectual process? I don't think this is unreasonable for some readers to ask a question after 10 chapters. </b>

<br></br>

However some readers such as Jenny Bear and Looking4it argue that if you don't like it then don't read it and dont comment. This perspective is symptomatic of a large section of readers who think something like this " well its Garyapb (author) story... he can do whatever he wants with it". What sort of crap is that? The logical extrapoliation from that idiotic view is that it is pointless for a reader to give any review or feedback other than glowing praises. Do authors really expect that ONLY positive glowing comments should be allowed?

<br></br>

<b>The real issue now is NOT what Molly did 4 years ago. </b> Everyone knows that what she did was completely unjustified heinous vile and exceptionally self-centered and cruel . And those are Molly's words.

<br></br>

But since Chris has returned back to Bristol what has Molly done? <b>In other word has she shown any growth or maturity at all?</b>

<br></br>

Molly who claims to love Chris deeply and realizes how awful mistake she made is now FINALLY getting the chance to have THAT special conversation after four long years.

<br></br>

So the first thing she does is strip and takes off all the clothes? You 're kidding me right?

<br></br>

Earlier in the story when Molly finally got her chance to meet with a love of her life after 4 long years ... to sit and talk and clear the air in a quiet but important lunch meeting... <b>Molly decides that it's better to FUCK Chris then to have that BIG conversation and tell him the truth.</b>

<br></br>

Molly amazingly and naĂŻvely believes that Peter did not intentionally seduce her and that none of this was planned on his part. She really believes that Peter has fallen in love with her.

<br></br>

So naturally when Chris returns to Bristol Molly decides at the luncheon rather than talk him to fuck him. Makes perfect sense.

<br></br>

even now when she finally has the BIG conversation she still does NOT apologize to Chris. He brings it up First.

<br></br>

<b> Using the story to seek understanding of the characters actions is NOT imposing your ideas on what YOU think should happen. </b>

<br></br>

Chris is NOT the same person he was 4 years ago.... If you think Chris and Molly should reconcile that I think it is only fair that someone explain how Molly's actions over the past weeks are not deeply disturbing.

AnonymousAnonymousover 16 years ago
Past and Future

I think that Susan was having, and still is, an affair with Peter and sicked him on her daughter to break up the mariage thereby keeping the grandkids near her. Ralph having just found out will throw her out. She will take Molly and the kids and go to London or Lands End where she will open up a bordello giving her now exhusband and Molly's two exhusbands a lifetime pass. At least another 6 chapters to achieve this end.

PS I like being anonymous, I can coment and NOT have to write my ending if it is not what the author intends.

air head versus ignorance character analysis

as the author tells the story, we can say one of three things about the Molly character: she's a complete airhead; she's ignorant; or she's both of those. <p>

if she's just dumb, to me it is more reason why Chris should not tie himself to her again... being quite dumb, Molly can be seduced to do anything, by any person who's attractive to her and who persists long enough, without letting her know that's the game. to me, being dumb/an airhead is the biggest factor against "reconciliation". <p>

if Molly's just ignorant (to imagine she's worked at that place for as long as she had, with so much gossips going on around people during lunch, about people like Peter, et al having seduced more than one or two other married women and NOT know ANY THING of that about Peter,,, THAT, to me, may or may not be willful ignorance; but it is a clear sign of SLOW mental activity), then pure ignorance MAY BE EXCUSABLE, depending on the mitigating circumstances (which are in Molly's favor in this case!)... <p>

the author --- IF HE SHOOTS FOR "reconciliation" --- could have Ralph, Chris, Jenneatte, Piers, et al. tell Molly what Peter's INITIAL motives here, when he set out to seduce not only Molly but other married, attractive women. <p>

(and, yes, where's Jeannette in all this, the last 3-4 chapters? isn't she the moral force behind a certain sense of moral and ethical proprietary understanding among this circle of Britolians?: she has after shun Peter and MOLLY, with her EISTEN equivalent brain thrust THINKS it's because of Peter's earlier SCIENTIFIC writings on issues contrary to Jeannette's conservative views! ANOTHER CLEAR SIGN of being an air head). <p>

i'm surprised the author did not have Piers and Jeannette gather with Len, Mums, and Raph at the latter's! if anyone who could convince both Molly and Chris as to why they should give themselves a real chance to reconcial, isn't it an OUSTIDER, with an objective understanding of WHY their problem mighty have started in the first place? both Jeannette and Piers are actually, as professionals colleagues, closer to Peter than they are to Chris; and yet they are --- especially Jeannette --- willing to forego their socialization with Peter, ONCE Jeannette learned of the TRUTH of how Molly's and Chris marriage broke up. <p>

aren't these the best people to point it out to Molly?.... Of course, Chris already knows all this.... But Einstein-equivallent Molly, she's in her "Peter is a nice guy; he did not mean to seduce me when he took me to his place and had to get naked due to liquidd spillage..." bubble world...

<p>

Ralph, Chris's mom and step dad Len are the weakest people to try to convince Chris and Molly to reconcil: these may have good intentions, as they are the grandparents of two little boys.... but because of that they have NO objectivity whatsoever, as to why or why not there ought to be a reconciliation, to put the family back together after 4 plus years.... they have no way of understanding how or why Molly did waht she did and whether she'd do that again to Chris in some future time... so Chris shouldn't trust their advice as to why he and Molly should reconcil, EVEN if he's inclined; and so far he's NOT inclined, he tells us. <p>

finally, someone noted that Chris is in a funky Jekyll/Hyde mode, not able or willing to tell Molly the truth about how Peter used to seduce attractive married.... well, looks can be deceiving: Chris simply says that was enough for that day, that night, and that he still has "hundreds of questions", as he gets up, kisses Molly on the cheek briefly and walks outside after her "in my fantasy dreams" speech, during which she of course takes off her clothes so she could explain to Chris as to why every pubic hair has a slightly different tinge... <p>

of coruse, Chris may just forego in trying to explain to Molly about Peter --- if he considers doing so would split them up for good and Chris rather that Molly and Peter stick together, because that'd give the two boys a more stable home base, BECAUSE Chris does NOT want to be saddled with Molly (again, her "You're the only man I've ever loved" speech notwithstanding).... <p>

remember, at certain point, Chris must decide to believe "ignorance is bliss" where Molly is concerned, where her loving Peter (even if not loved by her, she said, a woman whose words are not that credible) is concerned... even if I don't want Molly because she's both too stupid (can't learn much) and ignorant (has not learned much), since she's my boys mother, Chris must be saying to himself..... as such, I would still want her to have a stable home where the boys are safe. Peter, as a cosmic punishment for his previous life, has been able to provide such stability, even if not totally loving, environment for Chris's two boys... <p>

that to me is the calculus Chris is doing in his head: the lesser of two evils: <p>

(1) telling Molly the truth about Peter's activities and having her divorce Peter but NOT wanting to marry Molly a second time, thus leaving her desolate and suicidal, OR <p>

(2) gently rejecting Molly but letting Molly think about Peter as she pleases, thus enabling Molly and Peter to rebuild their shaky marriage, which did not really build on solid love from either one's part from the beginning, though neither's willing or able to articulating the truth to the other... both may not be very happy, but as Molly keeps saying, neither is not unhapy, either.... so they should be able to provide a solid home for Chris's boys for the next 10-11 years...

Response : To reconcile or NOT to reconcile

You make some very valid points. This is a story you either love or hate. Everyone has their opinions and we all are fools if we think we can change them with our words only. I will respond to what you said about me. It did not come out the way I intended. I think if you like or dislike a story, post whatever comments or ratings you deem necessary. I was only questioning why a person would continue to read a story they disliked so much and continue to leave disparaging remarks. I am very selective in what I read. If I don't like a story, I just stop reading it. I don't continue on and leave rude marks because it was not my bag of tea. I almost didn't read this story because I thought it was a MFM. I only continued on because I was stationed in the UK and loved the country. Some of the attacks were downright rude and hurtful. The least of was when they even attacked Gary's colloquialisms. That is uncalled for. This story give me everything I want. Cheating, sex, revenge and reconciliation, well, the last item remains uncertain. I am sure you also have an agenda as to what you prefer. Vive la difference!

I love reading what other people have to say, It only adds to my enjoyment of the story. It provides me with food for thought and often brings up points I had not thought about. Thank you for posting you thoughts, I certainly enjoyed reading them. This submission has generated more comments than I have ever seen but I have only been commenting on stories for a little over a month now. It took me a while to work up my courage.

It Is What It Is - They Are What They Are

With great deliberation the Author patiently paints people and their decision making in strong detail - as he sees them for all their warts and faults.<P>

That is his intent and it makes the story what it is to most or some. The problem with writing a long story is that there must be grist to do so. No one wants to read about perfect people especially here.<P>

That isn't a quandary but it is the way it is!<P>

I look forward to every 3 page chapter because it has maintained my interest and judging by the comments in count and emotion most feel involved.<P>

Author - this is a talented effort of a prolonged story which taxes peoples patience to some degree. We are a society of what happening now but that leads to falsity of expectation and results being conformed to whats expected.<P>

Stay your course of course and feel appreciated by many and most. The story and characters are perfectly imperfect just as it could be in real life.<P>

I'm really not comprehending

The need for this little talk/meeting. Everyone seems to want them back together but I don't understand WHY? She cheated, she lied, she betrayed him, she was the one fucking around so why didn't SHE try to fight for her husband? She was the one that destroyed her family so I'm not understanding her logic of telling him; she wrote him the letter telling him Peter asked her to marry him & she's thinking about accepting, how was this going to bring her husband back? I think she's not only a fucking worthless slut , she's also delusional & idiotic. If she always loved him then why did she marry Peter? There's something wrong with this dense chic. There are something's that absolutely can't be forgiven, what she did was unforgivable, she married Peter 5 weeks after the divorce, how much love could she have possibly felt for Chris by rushing into a "I think I might love you (Peter) "marriage instead of the "I love you (Chris) "Marriage she already possessed? This story is just weird, she royally destroyed his heart so I'm a bit confused as to why on earth would he put himself back in a situation where the fucking slut can hurt him again? How on earth would he possibly be able to trust her again? If she was feeling useless or unloved why was it hard for her to communicate this with her husband? I think this wife is a fucking slut who thought the grass was greener but reality bit her in the ass & now she realized what she lost... too bad, she shouldn't get a do-over, & does he really want to go back to a woman who can't seem to keep her legs closed, she's been married twice , cheated twice, I don't care if Peter is a fucking prick the point is she took vows & once again she's breaking them without a second thought. She's a whore & always will be there's no rehabilitating her ... She doubted her love for Chris so what's his guarantee that she won't doubt it again? I think Chris just needs to move on & find someone worthy of his fidelity, love, royalty & respect because this tramp doesn't deserve any of this. But hey what do I know I'm just a woman who hate cheaters, there's no excuse for spreading your legs for someone that isn't your spouse, if she was drugged than there might be a chance but continuing to have dates & all that other bullshit constitutes cheating no matter what her moronic reasoning for doing so. So far I'm not really enjoying this story, I think it's because this wife is a munipulative scheming slut & Chris can't get over the tramp. I don't think they should get back together, I don't trust the slut. This story is ok

A justification for adultery

Asking for forgiveness is not contingent on any hope of success but should be a desire arising from contrition and sorrow for committing a grave mistake or for grievous hurt - physically or emotionally. Therefore Molly's claim is a lame excuse.

An act of adultery cannot be justified by pleading a sense of helplessness or of love from, or pity to, the other consenting party, since sexual misconduct outside of marriage by any married person is indeed an act of betrayal to the spouse, unless the consenting party was not in control of her mental faculties at the time it was

committed, e.g., due to alcohol or drug influence.

An adulterous act is one of betrayal; betrayal of the spouse's love and trust. More importantly, it breached the sanctity of the marriage vows.

No amount of explanation can mitigate such a grievous

marital crime.

Pleading her own fault as the reason for allowing the aggrieved husband to proceed with divorcing her for adultery could also be construed as the wife contributing to the eventual marital breakup.

"I was so frustrated that I couldn't help ease your load. A load you took on for all of us. But I couldn't think of anything, anyway to help."

So, let’s help by having an affair!

“maybe I had slightly more than my fair share, as Peter had a bottle of water as well, he was driving after all. Then at the end, Peter asked if I'd ever tried grappa, as he never had."

Yeah, Peter’s a nice guy; he was obviously getting her drunk – and we all know why!

She can’t be so stupid as to think Peter had no ulterior motive, or that the kettle “accident” wasn’t intentional.

She keeps insisting, even now, that Peter is a nice guy! He isn’t – he DID seduce her, and she is STILL too dumb to see it! Until she can see that, there is no hope, IMHO.

And a “nice guy” would be encouraging her to work things out with her husband, not try to come between them. And if Peter really believed any of the bullshit he was spewing, then he has to accept that Molly can’t really love HIM, or else she wouldn’t have slept with Chris, and PETER should “just get over it!”

I wonder if what Ralph wants to talk about has something to do with Susan and Peter!

So Where Does Chris Go From Here?

Well, boo-hoo, it was all a big misunderstanding.

The fact remains, as he said, they are not the same people now. Even if he was so inclined, he can't simply forgive her, have her divorce Peter, re-marry, and go on like the previous 5 year never happened!

And we still don't know what Susan's involvement is - what sort of a marriage could they have with a mother-in-law possibly working to sabotage it?

All I hear from the ex is a bunch of excuses and half truths about cheating with a real nice guy. She is a cheater and was played without ever knowing it. That is sure enough one way to really help her husband. This sounds like a bunch of bullshit that she is shoveling. She has it so deep that he needs boots. I'm glad he made her put her clothes back on and he left. Good move on his part. He is suffering to much anguish over a cheater, he needs to move on.

Congrats. Very good story. (Four out of five) I gave a great big long comment last chapter so I am going to keep this short. Chris and Molly finally talk. I believe Molly is telling the truth as she knows it. I will have to go back and reread her explanation. Her strange "you get what you bought" theory is intriguing. (I would guess many men would be delighted with all the sex you want but only limited to this this and this.) Nice to hear Peter didn't get everything he wanted and is suffering But there is still more to come as Ralph hinted. I like there was no immediate reconciliation. I really like how Chris turned her down for sex. Cheers Steve

Dumb as a bag of hammers, that Molly.

Sorry, but there's no other interpretation; Molly is a moron. She can't tell when she's being seduced, can't tell when a man is trying to get her into bed? I feel sorry for the two boys, because part of their DNA came from the woman who cheated on her husband, their father, one time - and then more or less just stood and stared at him until the divorce was final. That explanation makes her look so naive and simpleminded that I almost refuse to accept it - it almost ruins the story for me.

Something is up with Susan, something we don't know about yet. She's obviously been colluding with Peter about getting Molly to leave her husband and then stay away from him, but there's something to do with the letter that set Ralph off. I'm sure we'll find out what happened in the next hundred pages or so. Good story, good writing.

Ditzy Is Cute, But This Is What You Get With Ditzy

You know, I've dated a lot and throughout my dating more than 90% of them have been with highly educated, intelligent women. With them if they cheat you know they decided to cheat, or make any decisions, they made a conscious decision.

Now I have dated a few ditzy women. Not airheads, but a little ditzy. I remember one was an RN, very very attractive, looked like Marilyn Manroe in a way, and somehow loved to act a little ditzy like her. She thought really all a man would want is a beautiful woman that would cater to him. It was cute for a while, but got old very quick.

But this chapter just makes me think this is what you get when you married a ditzy woman. She means well. She obviously loved/s him. Is a good wife and mother. But she's ditzy. She doesn't realize when a man is seducing her, ohh he's just being a good friend. When he fucks her knowing she is a wife and mother, she says he didn't expect that to happen either. Then after it happens every way she reacts is ditzy, from miscommunicating with him. Keeping on seeing Peter. Then going off to marry him. Yes, I realize what is to come is that Susan pushed this along, but cannot get away that this is a very ditzy woman. It's very cute, sort of like having an innocent child that is always looking at you with googly eyes. But then you also get someone the gullible stupid person that sucsumbs to a con man in a sense and who doesn't have the mental capacity to get herself out of the situation and right the wrong.

OK, Fuck it, I gotta say it!!!

Now I would fucking sincerely hope that any woman, no scratch that, anyBODY, man or woman who wanted to be forgiven and have any hope of their spouse taking them back to try and work it out were smart enough to know better than to say "I'm sorry, Chris, but just for that moment I forgot you." HOLY SHIT!!!! That surely can't be stupidity right? Its got to be ignorance, just not knowing any better, right? Cause if its stupidity then how in the fuck did they survive for well, hell any amount of time. If they were that clueless they should have been dead a long time ago. Of something like, you know, forgetting to breath. I could go on and on about why I think that is so significant. I mean there was a lot of of stuff she said that were deal breakers already but that being said if you love someone as much as she said she did, then that just doesn't happen. OK I ranted!! I feel better now :) Oh and thanks for writing. While I do not agree on the way lots of stories turn out, I still love to read them. And I appreciate that there are people who write them.

I'm done with this story.

You're a great writer but I've had it with these two and Ralph. Fuck Ralph. He should keep his nose out of it.

"...the door was locked; I wasn't going anywhere" I would have picked something up and thrown it through a window.

His mom and the rest of them are a bunch of manipulating fuckers. I have no respect for Chris.

You lost me

I was fully invested in this story till this chapter. You made her a lying cheating nutcase. Stay away from her Chris oh, you're on the right track there. And Chris you're a pretty weak wimp too. Should have fought for her the first time instead of running away for a week. The story is good you're a good writer write up this chapter 10 kind of fell apart. I'll continue reading it but I'm not vested in it anymore don't care what they do.

Lost it

This has dissolved into something that it wasn’t. So, it’s just a big old misunderstanding by a bunch of stubborn people. Who’s on first and all of that. Except she’s fucked another man for 5 years instead of giving her husband 15 MINUTES of explanation.

This chapter has rendered everything a giant waste of time.

I could tell that this was going to be a RAAC going in 5 paces, and I was ok with it. I don’t need them all to be BTB. But it least has to make sense.

Took FAR FAR too long to get to this point

A pack of mush too difficult to parse and understand, for the readers and Chris.

No respect for Molly at all. Her lack of character is a serious problem.

Cannot empathize with her. Feel far worse for the victims, Chris and Peter.

Kind of amazing to scroll through the comments and see that were left 13 years ago! A different world. Reading this as a blessed distraction as we live through the Pandemic (hopefully) I am so thankful this story is so stretched out and well written. Sometimes I get into the characters so much and miss them once the morality play has spun itself down. And Chris is a great main character to show his world to us. I few things amazing and distract me. First as Chris takes over these businesses I wonder how realistic or altruistic all that is. Nowadays companies get bought up run into the ground and end up destroyed with the new owners giving themselves bonuses and finagling the finances to not have to meet their pension/retirement requirements. This is a story with someone who is actually saving this company not extracting it resources and moving on like a swarm of locusts. Pleasant and nice to read, I wonder if this sort of thing actually exists in 2020 anymore.

But what this is really about is the destruction of our villain who is surrounded by enemies. His step children disrespect him, his wife is frigid in bed and denies him, and now the man whose marriage was wrecked by Peter has returned more powerful than ever. He can squash this little ant with his fingers but like a cat with a mouse is being toyed with, either consciously or unconsciously much to our delight. His older friend who had the alpha male meltdown said it all, Peter takes what he wants and he wanted Molly. And that is the villains great flaw he got her but WHY would he want a married woman with two children anyway. He seemed to be doing well for himself in terms of his affairs, he could have just moved on from Molly, I mean they never had sex again until they were married. There was no getting up to speed with the kids. His only ally was Mollys crazy ass mother who is terrified Chris would move her grandchildren away. And for some reason Molly listens to her. But we've been dragged so far into this will they talk won't they talk, it's the false climax of the story as it occurs too early but it's wild. Locked in a room with Molly on his back while Chris struggles with the door! Insane! I imagined her on his back like Yoda riding Lukes Back! Hilarious! Then get naked with your in-laws in the next room to display your pubic hair collection! Molly has this elaborate set of monuments built into her second marriage, her pubic hair, the dining room, the type of sex she has with Peter, she's living her own personal mount rushmore to honor Chris. Seriously the woman has some serious mental problems because all this bullshit could have been settled with a talk or an email or puppet theater something! So I have hopes we'll get to see inside her head a little bit because yes, marrying Peter was punishment for him and her for the seduction and adultery. But she's also punishing the children and that's wrong. Anyway, look I know this story is old and you must have had a million comments over the years in the multipart saga (LW of the Rings!) of Back to Bristol. But it's a great testament to you it's still read and commented on. I look forward to finishing it.

Ralph was spot on about his daughter. She really is a dumb cunt.

Peter got Molly drunk, then fucked her... but the stupid twat thinks he's a "nice guy". No he isn't, idiot! He poured booze down your throat then basically raped you!

But the way she handled her confession proves she doesn't have a brain. Molly is appalled at herself for having sex with another man and betraying her husband... so she tells Chris how wonderful Peter is and that she has deep feelings for him?! Is she insane or actually retarded?

silentsoundsilentsoundabout 3 years ago

Molly is too dumb of a cunt to be with anyone besides the dipshit she fucked her life away with.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 3 years ago
Well...

More excellent character development. The parents locking Chris in was ridiculous, but forgivable given that the rest is so strong. The characters are written so well, and Molly's repentance so genuine, I can see this becoming a convincing reconciliation, which is a hard sell in the LW category.

nice and intense chapter...otherwise lots of just plodding along with story lines coming and going.

"Now that I knew this full story, it didn't seem so bad."

Yeah, your wife fucking around wasn't so bad. Way to go Cuckboy.

"But how would I have judged it then? Then I was an innocent. I hadn't fucked my way around the brothels of the world. I hadn't had so many one night stands that I've lost count."

The difference is that you weren't married when you were out whoring and slutting it up.

"As I said at the beginning, he is a really nice guy."

Unbelievable. A nice guy, such a nice guy that he sauces up a married woman and fucks her, then proceeds to pursue her while turning her mother against her daughter's husband. Such a nice guy!

As for her "genuine" contrition... how genuine is the contrition if she's still defending the douche. If she's still telling her ex-husband how sexy and great douchebag is to his face. Fucking really?!

Don't even get me started on Ralph locking them in a room so his slut daughter can unload her bullshit and wax-poetic about how nice, how great, how sexy douchebag is.

1 star for cuckshit.

This story has turned to shit. His relatives suck. I would disown them. They locked him in the house with her after manipulating him. They are all intent on him getting back with a lying, cheating, piece of shit woman.

It seems hare to imagine that there are family like this. Nobody in my family would even come close to doing what these fuckers have done to him.

I wasted too much time reading this garbage. The author is a great write but the direction of this story is not worthy of time being spent on it.

I'm caught up in this even tho I think it's going to become a raac ending.

Horrible letdown.

Can't believe I read this far, hoping for something ....

I have read this far, so I will see it out, besides I am intrigued as to what part Susan played in the break up, and what is she up to now, I don't believe that she is in Weymouth. However it's been spoilt as a good story, how can a couple so in love, burn their marriage in about 10 days with no attempt by either at reconciliation. It's just a load of rubbish, it's now odds on that they will remarry

dawg997dawg997almost 2 years ago

I'm really enjoying this story, the quality of the writing is excellent!

Looking at the vitriol in some of the comments blows me away. Sure, disagree, but damn!

The author did the work here, let the author have the say about where the story goes.

I enjoy the interpersonal exchanges quite a lot, even if I don't agree with them. It's frigging fiction, people!

Through this whole thing Chris has really been nearly as much at fault as Molly. COUNSELING would have cut through most, if not all, of the misunderstandings. And saved us much (although entertaining) reading time.

So maybe another two chapters and they’re back together with a lot more chapters left, the urge to skip to the end is becoming stronger with each page.

This chapter just made me cringe. There doesn't seem to be an admirable person in this entire story.

Molly really is messed up. She’s to stupid to survive.

Well, I've got 10 chapters behind me without looking at any comments until now. I see several consider it long-winded or slow. Have to say I'm really enjoying it.

I'm sorry to see that Gary has not added to his stories in many years, I hope he is alive and well, if by chance you see this Gary, many thanks, your story telling and detail are excellent.

Again, Molly really is a fucked up bitch. She should be in a mental institution.

AnonymousAnonymous10 months ago

What a complete crock of shit. The whole family, his & hers are insane, totally delusional. He has to get away from them for his own sanity. -10 on stupid meter.

AnonymousAnonymous6 months ago

Molly has some serious mental disorder/s (not a shock considering her insane mother) and, she was gaslighting the dickens out of Chris... and, he was falling for it.

Madeira1076Madeira10766 months ago

I don't understand why everyone including Molly, now, keeps saying he is a nice guy? Only two people have held him accountable, his best friends and mentor.

HighBrowHighBrow4 months ago

I knew there would be no reasonable explanation for her behavior, and he would accept it anyway, but I waited to hear it from her lips. I was right, and I am done with this waste of time.

AnonymousAnonymous3 months ago

Still Here, barely just though.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 months ago

About the halfway mark, pretty much as expected a melodrama all based on two misconceptions caused by a lack of real communication.

What I'm finding hard to appreciate is how Molly after 4-5years if Peter hasn't had a single insight into the kind of person he was and probably still is. She defends him, when he definitely seduced her and plied her with enough alcohol to drop her barriers. Her subsequent relationship with Peter really doesn't cast her in a good light. However much of a dickhead conniving scumbag he is, he sti doesn't deserve it. She should never have gone along with Peter if she didn't love him.
