I would have put this as incest/taboo, even though it is also Mature, but does it matter? It did not spoil the story, although I would love to have been the one to "spoil" Sam. She can sail with me any time.

As a senior who over many years had 7 sailboats I really enjoyed the story. I had boats in New Orleans, Houston, Galveston, and Resondo Beach, CA. My largest was a Morgan 41 - a floating condo! One of my favorite mates was nicknamed 'Sam'. She & I screwed from NO to Florida. (Another was an MD named Joan !)
