Much Better
At last we learn that the soon so be ex-husband has a backbone and some grit. We can hope the lawyer tells her that she chose her path and now must walk it, and suggest that her biological family might help her as his client no longer considers himself to be a "male relative."
Why should there be more. He has evidence
of her immorality and adultry. Divorce her while she is in prison there. Let her family save her but explain to them why you are leaving her there and divorcing her.
